This temporary (even though 5 years) installation by Arne Quinze is intented to create a square-like situation in front of the Flemish parliament and want to create communication by showing a phyical connection between the neighbouring buildings.

The entire sculpture (exept base) is build using 100% eco friendly wood and after disassembly all wood will be used for design furniture.

A worldmap by contry codes, I assume the size of abbreviation resmbles the numeber of registered pages online…

after yesterday’s elections in the german ’state’ of bavaria the CSU first time in the existence of the german federal republik lost their governing mayority. still, as seen on the above map, there is not much of a variety in the outcome.

for our us-american friends: in bavaria its the blue guys who are conservatives…

and here is one on percentage for each county. the darker, the more conservative.

These machines built to repeat a carefully calculated miss approach over and over by Michael Kontopoulos absolutely stimulate my interest getting to a world where the machine’s ‘live’ has way more character than the actual outcome. Love it!

David Byrne is activating the Maritime Building’s Sound in NYC, a fromer ferry station, by the use of engines that set specifis parts of the building into vibration to release the objects natural ambient sound.
