after yesterday’s elections in the german ’state’ of bavaria the CSU first time in the existence of the german federal republik lost their governing mayority. still, as seen on the above map, there is not much of a variety in the outcome.
for our us-american friends: in bavaria its the blue guys who are conservatives…
and here is one on percentage for each county. the darker, the more conservative.

These machines built to repeat a carefully calculated miss approach over and over by Michael Kontopoulos absolutely stimulate my interest getting to a world where the machine’s ‘live’ has way more character than the actual outcome. Love it!

Dear lovers and haters of Bavaria,
just when Oktoberfest is about to hit the fan (why in september, anyways?), this excellent documentary ‘Rampenfest’ by Jeff Schultz gives us a profound introduction into the south-eastern life in Germany. Enjoy!

Not only avoiding a signpost forrest but minimizing down to zero was Hans Monderman’s goal in this small town in the dutch province of Fiesland. Interesting to me: His statement that social interaction can reduce the need for signage, this making signage almost agressive.
